Jazz Band
The jazz ensemble provides students with an opportunity to grow through a serious American art form. Saxophone, trumpet, trombone, piano, bass, guitar, and drums perform music from the big band era to the present, including Swing, Bop, Latin, Rock and other styles. Performances include two yearly concerts, festivals, competitions, and other local performances.
Interested in joining Jazz Band?
Basic concepts of form, style and improvisation are included. Attendance at performances outside of class is required. Ability to read music is preferred, but any serious musician will be considered. Auditions may be required on certain instruments at the director's discretion. Rehearsals at 7:00 a.m. school days. Prerequisite: Enrollment in Varsity Band or permission of instructor. Estimated minimum student costs: $50.
