Music at Santa Cruz High School

Santa Cruz High's Cardinal Regiment Marching Band has a proud history and tradition of excellence. We continue adding to that history and tradition today. Our standards for excellence are high, and we believe in each individual's potential and the band's potential for achievement and success. We have Spirit and Pride! Our magic formula is working together toward mutual goals, united as one. We plan and prepare for our success, setting our goals together and striving all year to reach or surpass them.

We rely almost exclusively on fundraising and a strong supportive Booster organization to help us cover our expenses. We believe that money should not be a barrier to participation in this organization, and students will never be prohibited from performing due to financial reasons. In general, band fees cover the expense of the trips. The school provides us with very little monetary support, and the difference between our need and income is what we ask band families to provide as band fees. Band fees can be paid in full, paid in installments, or earned by fundraising. There are many opportunities for fundraising throughout the year. If these still do not provide your family with a viable option there are some scholarship funds available.

We are proud and privileged to represent our community and our school as we travel throughout Northern California and beyond. It is our goal to foster a real sense of family amongst everyone: color guard and musicians united as one team—the Cardinal Regiment. When we say band we mean all students. Our Boosters work together for the same.
