A Tradition of Pride & Excellence

Established in 1925 (see picture), the band program at Santa Cruz High School is one of the oldest in California, and we are proud and privileged to represent our community and our school as we travel throughout Northern California and beyond.

We strive to foster a sense of camaraderie and family amongst our members: color guard and musicians united as one team—the Cardinal Regiment. When we say band we mean all students in pursuit of a common goal. Our Boosters (band parents) work together for the same.

Over a Hundred Years of History – Highlights and Milestones

  • 2016 the band accepts a coveted Memorial Day weekend invitation to perform at Disneyland.
  • 2014 the band performs at the Hawaii Invitational International Music Festival.
  • 2012 the band is featured in a national campaign for Disney's Magic Music Days.
  • 2008 the band returns to Waikiki for the "World of Pageantry" parade, concert, percussion & winter guard festival.
